Last year I told Robert the one thing I wanted to do for fall more than anything was to go apple picking. Autumn is my favorite season! And apple picking is just a great way to encompass all the things to love about fall. Apples, cool mountain air, fresh hot cider, bundling up a little bit, etc… I had always went apple picking when I was in college, and as a photographer, I knew it would be so fun to make a little photo shoot out of it as well (hence all the pictures below.) The other big reason I wanted to go apple picking in Hendersonville specifically was for the donuts. Yes, donuts! My favorite apple orchard, Sky Top Apple Orchard, located in the mountains of Hendersonville, NC makes homemade apple cider donuts that make my mouth literally salivate just thinking about them. They’re to die for! And they make them fresh every morning, so they’re still warm when they hand them to you. As I type this I realize I never took any pictures of the actual donuts. But donuts are for eating, not for taking pictures of. Right?

Anyway, last year sadly didn’t work out to go apple picking. Sooo this year, I told Robert we HAD to go apple picking at Sky Top Apple Orchard in Hendersonville, NC! And so we did! And it worked out that my little bro, Nathan, and best friend, Michelle, only lived about 30 minutes away. So we all met up on a cool, crisp autumn morning in the Blue Ridge Parkway mountains for one of my favorite fall festivities – apple picking! 🙂 And I gave them a few updated headshots too as you will see below.
