This stunning senior session was captured along the rolling foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and in downtown Maryville, with the coolest high school senior.
This blog post is featuring the coolest high school senior and longtime family friend, Cody! This session was somewhat bittersweet because I’ve known Cody since he was a baby. He’s all grown up now, and I can’t even believe it. We’ve grown up going to the same church for almost two decades, and our families are pretty close. It was an honor that Cody’s family wanted me to capture this season of his life. They wanted the stunning East Tennessee Great Smoky Mountain landscape in his photos, and they are from Ohio, which is pretty flat. So, they drove all the way from Ohio to East Tennessee! With how gorgeous these photos turned out, I’m sure it was worth it!
While I am a wedding and family photographer, I love filling in my calendar with senior photo sessions. I don’t often market them, but I do enjoy photographing them. High school seniors are usually down for anything and a blast to work with, meaning I can be more experimental. I really do feel like senior photography is underrated. Your child has grown so much in the last 12+ years of their lives, and it deserves to be commemorated. They are also about to leave the nest and embark on big adventures! A photo session can make a child feel loved and celebrated (even if they don’t like having their photo taken).
Cody and his family ended their photo experience with a lovely wall portrait of him for their home as well as some matted and wallet prints for gifting to family. I love being able to assist families after the shoot by getting tangible prints in their hands and on their walls. It’s so rewarding! An investment in professional photography is also an investment in yourself and your family. What better way to appreciate your lovely photos by having them printed, instead of them sitting in an iPhone or computer for the next few decades!
This shoot was so fun, and I love how the images with the rolling foothills in the back turned out. I am so honored that Cody and his family thought of me to be their photographer. Plus, I loved being able to give them some physical prints in addition to the gorgeous digitals. Here are some of my favorites from the session!
If you love this one, be sure to check out another one of my sessions in the Smokies, an intimate countryside wedding!
