There is something special about photographing seniors standing on the edge of a brand-new chapter. Tiana’s spring senior portraits at Melton Lake Park captured not only her natural beauty and confidence, but also the excitement of everything ahead.
One of the things I love most about being a senior photographer in Knoxville is meeting seniors from all different walks of life. Tiana is originally from California, but she’ll soon be calling Knoxville home as she begins her journey at the University of Tennessee this fall. This made her session especially memorable for me!
Tiana’s grandmother lives here in East Tennessee. While Tiana was visiting her grandma during spring break, they filled their time together with plenty of fun activities. Along with her senior portrait session, they went shopping, got their nails done, and all the other things that come with a grandma who loves to spoil her granddaughter. It sounded like the perfect spring break, if you ask me (and no, I’m definitely not jealous!).
From the moment we met, Tiana was a joy to photograph. Her grandmother had assured me she would be a natural in front of the camera, and she couldn’t have been more right! Tiana carried herself with grace and confidence, making every part of the session feel effortless. She made my job almost too easy! As we talked, it was easy to see how excited she is for this next season of life. Although she’ll miss the city life of California, I have a feeling Knoxville will win her over before too long!
We chose to shoot her senior portraits at Melton Lake Park, one of Knoxville’s most popular photo locations. Tiana shared that she loved the look of rolling hills, beautiful meadows, and that dreamy golden-hour sunlight. I immediately knew the perfect place! Melton Lake Park offers such a versatile backdrop for senior portraits. With scenic river views, beautiful trees, and wide-open landscapes, the park provided a perfect setting to celebrate such an exciting milestone.
