Layken & Travis’ engagement session this past March took me back to my roots a bit. It was in midwest Ohio where I grew up. In fact, I knew Travis growing up through our church, and his mom was my Sunday school teacher for years. (I told Layken during the session that Travis’ mom has always been like an (amazing!) aunt in my life :)) He comes from a family of farmers, which is where we shot a good portion of their session, at the farm! And Layken’s family lives not far at all from them, and we got to shoot the first half of their session at her uncle’s wooded property. Both locations were absolutely amazing and meaningful being a huge part of their up bringing and childhood. The best part is their wedding will also take place on their family’s property! (I’m so excited about this!!) It will be one big celebration for sure with their closest family and friends at the farm! But in the meantime, you are going to love this midwest Ohio family farm engagement session.
A quick run down of Layken and Travis that you need to know… they’ve been dating since high school, so for about six years (high school sweethearts!) He is a farmer, and she is a physician assistant. At the beginning of this year, Travis and Layken took a trip out west and that is where he proposed, at the Grand Canyon to be exact. While coming from a small farming community in Ohio, they are both extremely adventurous and up for anything – what I love most about them! Especially Travis, who on a whim drove Layken up to Canada while they were visiting in Michigan just to give Layken the opportunity to use her new passport. 🙂 There’s so many other wonderful things I could say about this cute couple, but I know you’re really probably here for the pictures. Enjoy looking through this beautiful midwest Ohio family farm engagement session!
