A warm and sentimental downtown summer anniversary session with the dreamiest lighting and sweetest, down-to-earth couple
This dreamy downtown summer anniversary session was more than just your typical anniversary session, it was also a celebration of Knoxville and a farewell to this chapter of Ashley and Jackson’s life. Ashley and Jackson have quickly become clients that I consider friends. From photographing their wedding three years ago, to their anniversary, and hopefully their growing family in the future, Ashley and Jackson have proven themselves to be one of the sweetest and most caring couples I have had the opportunity to photograph. Photography is such a gift for me in this way, because I gain new friendships and meet the coolest people all the time!
For this session, they were up for anything, and I’m so honored they trust my creative vision. We walked through Downtown Knoxville, finding the most picturesque spots as a backdrop for this gorgeous couple. Beautiful brick streets, unique architecture, and the occasional pop of greenery made for some lovely images. The lighting was also perfect, as it was a dreamy summer day with so much beautiful sunlight. This session was especially sentimental, as Ashley and Jackson are getting ready to move to Atlanta, Georgia for Jackson’s new job as an Attorney. They moved to the Knoxville area for law school and instantly fell in love with the city and lifestyle here. They were very sentimental about leaving Knoxville and embarking on a new season of life, but they are also so excited!
I love how much Ashley values pictures to document their first few years of marriage and all the sweet memories they’ve made here. The first few years of marriage are always extra special, as you learn more about each other and figure out life together before kids and starting new jobs. While I know this chapter was full of growth and fun, I know their next will be just as gratifying and fulfilling. Side note: Ashley and Jackson were such champs this session and so patient as one of my camera batteries was malfunctioning! This is the only time this has ever happened in the whole of my photography career, and they were so sweet about it.
Seriously, I can’t wait to see their family grow and the new paths in life they will take, whether or not they continue to invite me to tell their story. Here are some of my favorites from the session, I know you’ll love them just as much as I did!
Downtown Knoxville is such a cute place to capture an anniversary session! If you liked this one, you should check out another one of my fun downtown anniversary sessions!
