A classy and romantic summer Maryville wedding with timeless style and tasteful details.

If you’ve ever attended, been a part of, or had your own wedding, you would probably recognize that weddings have the potential to bring the best out in people. Rebecca and Zachary’s special day did exactly that, evidenced by a cohort of supportive and wildly fun friends and family! It was a small, intimate gathering, but the love and support were palpable, and despite the cozy nature of the wedding, the celebration was anything but quiet. This classy and romantic summer Maryville wedding was a joy to photograph!

The bridal party, made up of their closest friends and Rebecca’s sister, was the heartbeat of the celebration. They brought so much energy, fun, and laughter, keeping the spirit high from the early hours of preparation to the final dance. In my experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve come to appreciate how much of a difference it makes to have supportive bridal party that knows how to have a good time.

Rebecca and Zachary’s love story began at Maryville College, where they met during an on-campus Bible study. They connected quickly, forming a close-knit group of friends that became an important part of their story. After graduation, they faced the challenge of long distance, with Zachary staying in the area and Rebecca returning to Alabama. However, the distance only made their reunion more exciting, and I could tell the anticipation for their wedding was high.

They are a couple that truly balances each other out. Zachary is the outgoing, life-of-the-party type, who makes everyone feel like an old friend from the moment they meet. Rebecca is more introverted but equally warm and thoughtful. She has a way of making you feel instantly at ease. As their photographer, I felt welcomed and included from the start. Side note: while shooting their wedding, I was six months pregnant and it was sunny and ninety degrees out. Rebecca and Zachary were so accommodating and caring, which I have no expectation for, but I was so appreciative of how thoughtful they were. Additionally, they are naturals in front of the camera, which made my job so much easier!

The color palette for the day was a delightful mix of lilac purple, light orange, sunset orange, and soft yellow — a combination I absolutely adored. Rebecca’s style was a beautiful blend of elegance and playfulness. She wasn’t afraid to embrace bold colors, and Napping Cat Flowers, one of my favorite florists in East Tennessee, worked their magic to bring this vision to life. Their arrangements were whimsical yet sophisticated, perfectly reflecting Rebecca’s aesthetic — a mix of fun and timeless beauty.

This was my first time shooting at Skyview at Broadway in Maryville, and I was instantly charmed by the venue. It’s classy without being pretentious, with an industrial look that’s both timeless and sleek. The high ceilings and original patina hardwood floors added a warmth that made the space feel both grand and intimate. After the ceremony and reception at Skyview, we took a short walk to Bicentennial Park for the bridal party portraits. The park, with its large, old trees and open grassy areas, provided the perfect backdrop for capturing these special moments.

Their wedding was simple yet filled with meaningful, beautiful, and tasteful touches. The day was such a reflection of them as a couple, and I was honored to be able to capture it. Here are some of my favorite moments from their wedding day!
