An outdoor family fall session in Knoxville with a fun, down-to-earth family of four
This fall family session with the Sloans was shot on a lovely cool, crisp autumn evening. Despite it being overcast, and the last minute venue switch, the images still turned out as a beautiful display of the Sloan family’s connection and love for each other. We were originally planning on shooting at Cruze farms historical home location here in East TN. They ended up closed for whatever reason on the day of the shoot, which thankfully I caught on the way over. We ended up at a quaint park nearby, and I was so thankful that the Sloans were down for the quick change! None of the emotion or artistic vision had to be sacrificed in this process, which goes to show that wonderful images can be made anywhere.
Their whole family was a joy to photograph, but especially the brother-sister duo. Their relationship was priceless, filled with secret-sharing, tickle fights, and chasing each other around. They were so game for any prompt I gave them, and were so fun to capture throughout the whole session.
Danielle, their mom, is a fellow photographer, and a great one at that! Being a photographer and solopreneur can sometimes feel isolating, but I am so thankful for industry friends like Danielle. This session was a wonderful opportunity to get to know her and their down-to-earth family better. They just recently purchased some land and broke ground on building their new home – so exciting! Danielle even homeschools the kids, which gives them a lot of flexibility in schedule. They also go camping quite often, spending multiple weeks out of the year in their camping trailer. If you love camping like us, you know how fun that sounds.
From the sweetest brother-sister interactions, to beautiful candid shots of the whole family, this session was a treat. Here are some of my favorite images from the session. I’m sure you’ll love them just as much as I do.
If you loved this relaxed and joyful family and their lifestyle photo session, you HAVE to check out this other fun session! It’s an in home session but you would never guess the images were taken in only one room!!
